1. Who we are
EdBanz is an academic lifecycle platform for institutions. It covers administration, live classrooms, assessments, and AI-assisted academic tools. EdBanz is offered by Softbanz. In this policy, “EdBanz”, “we”, and “us” mean that service and the team that operates it.
This policy covers the public website at edbanz.com and the EdBanz product an institution licenses. It does not replace the privacy notice of a school or other customer.
2. Information we collect
Website and demo requests
When you book a demo, contact sales or ask to start free, you give us your first name, last name, work email, institution name, your role, the approximate number of students, and — if you choose — the number of campuses and a short note about what you need. We send that request through our form provider, Web3Forms, so the EdBanz team can reply.
The site also receives ordinary technical data from your browser, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages you open. We use that to keep the site available and to understand which pages are used. This marketing site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics tags.
Platform data
When an institution uses EdBanz, it decides which records to store. Those records can include administrator, teacher, and student accounts, branch and class structure, attendance, assessments, grades, classroom activity, messages, and files the institution uploads. If the institution turns on AI grading, agents, or proctoring, the related academic content is processed to produce the result that institution requested.
3. How we use information
- Reply to demo and sales requests and keep a record of that conversation.
- Provide, secure, and support the platform an institution has configured.
- Operate administration, virtual classrooms, assessments, and enabled AI features.
- Meet legal duties and protect the service from abuse.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use student records for advertising.
4. Institutional and student data
For records inside a customer account, the institution is responsible for the information it places in EdBanz. That includes telling students, families, and staff what the institution requires, and obtaining any consent its laws require. Where FERPA applies, the institution remains responsible for education records, and EdBanz handles those records to deliver the service under the institution’s instructions.
Students, parents, and staff should contact their institution first for access, correction, or deletion of academic records. The institution controls that data and can act on it inside the product.
This website is aimed at institutions and their staff. We do not knowingly collect information from children through the marketing site. Student information enters EdBanz only when an institution adds it to the platform.
6. Security and retention
EdBanz is built with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access control, and regular backups. Access to customer data is limited to people and systems that need it to operate the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
We keep demo-request details for as long as we need them to respond and to maintain a business record. Platform data stays for the life of the institution’s account. When that agreement ends, we delete or return it, except where the law requires a longer period.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you, or to object to or limit certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
If your request is about an academic record, contact your institution. They can update or export that information from their account. For information you sent through this website, use the contact option below.
We may update this policy when the product or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Continued use of the website after an update means the updated policy applies to that use.
